“…now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen….’’ Hebrews 11:1

The Bible expresses faith as evidence of the things not seen. That is, things we did not see or things people can’t see, or things we can neither perceive nor feel but yet they are real. The word evidence means all oral statements (spoken word) or written documents made before the court of law by a witness. Meaning, evidence is proof, confirmation or declaration, which is done verbally or written down. Now, in relation to the Christian, the words you say are evidence for you or against you before God, the judge of all judges who hears what you say and think regularly. So if that be the case, it, therefore, means that the expression of your faith in words without staggering or doubting is important. Because they are proof that you truly trust God and you are convinced that all your petitions before God are answered already. This attitude was what Papa Abraham had, that made the bible to say, “…he did not waver at the promises of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith giving glory to God…’’- Romans 4:20 (NKJV), did you see that? This is the same kind of attitude that God wants us to possess. He wants us to be strengthened in faith both in our words and in our actions. This attitude was what changed the life of Papa Abraham, and his name was changed from Abram meaning assumed father to Abraham, which means father of many. The moment he began to call himself the father of many, Isaac showed up.

So the question I have for you today is, what are you saying in your time of trial? Are you speaking fear or speaking faith? Are you calling yourself the name of your situation or you are calling yourself the situation you want to find yourself? Beloved, I admonish you to put your faith to work by making full proof of the word of God in your life. If you’re facing a situation of lack, announce that you are rich because your announcement is the evidence that you have said it and it will become so. If you are facing a health condition, it’s time to say ‘’ I have sound health’’. Amen!
