“…do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things…” – Matthew 6:34
I have met so many people whose only job is to sit down and worry about tomorrow. They get so worried and distracted to the point that they end up not making good use of today. They get so engrossed in worrying about what tomorrow holds that they miss the blessings and opportunities of today. Beloved this ought not to be so. When you take a look at our opening scripture, Jesus Christ specifically said, “…do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things…” Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) letting us know that as a Christian, you are not supposed to worry about tomorrow. You are expected to take things one step at a time. You might say but sir if I don’t worry about tomorrow, what will tomorrow be like for me then? How would I survive when tomorrow comes? Well, worrying about tomorrow will not get the job done, Jesus Christ said which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature (Matthew 6:30).
So what do you do about tomorrow? Well, it is to be planned for and not to be worried about. The reason is that worry does not make things right, it is planning that makes things happen. Therefore, I encourage you to use today to plan for tomorrow. Stop wasting today in worrying and start using it for planning and making wise decisions. Make wise investments today so that you can have great gains tomorrow. Say the right things, think the right thoughts, sow the right behaviors, and make the right choices for all these are the investments of today that organize your future and bring you to an expected end. CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
Heavenly Father, I thank you for bringing me this uncanny wisdom from your word. I declare that henceforth, I refuse to worry about tomorrow and what it has to bring. I choose to invest today properly because I know that if my today is properly invested, my tomorrow will be full of gains. Praise God!
