“…death no longer has dominion over Him…” —Romans 6:9 (NKJV)
Being a Christian, one of the fundamental truths that you must hold dearly in your walk with God is that death has no dominion over you. It might sound quite ridiculous and big for the religious mind but for you, it shouldn’t be difficult for you to believe. Understand this; one of the things Jesus Christ came to do for us was not just to die for our sins but to defeat death so that it will not have power over us anymore. Now, your responsibility is to believe it and live in the consciousness of it because this will help you to live above the fear of death. There are folks today who still live with the fear of death every day of their lives but considering what Jesus Christ said to John in the book of revelation, the fear factor is not allowed to continue in you. Jesus Christ said to John, “…don’t be afraid! I am the first and the last. I am the living one! I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever. I have authority over death and the world of the dead…” (Revelation 1:17 -18 GNB) meaning that Jesus has the keys of hades and death and you are complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). The Bible lets us know in Galatians 3:27 that all who were baptized into Christ have clothed themselves with Christ therefore, death cannot function in their lives and death cannot have dominion over them.
It is important for you to live every day of your life in the consciousness of this truth because the world we are living in is so full of darkness. Death has crept into everything but when you have this consciousness, it doesn’t matter the death that is out there in the world, it will not come near you because of your union with Jesus Christ. The devil will bring you negative thoughts and try to make you believe that you are still subject to the dominion of death, but choose to stand your ground and remind him of what Jesus Christ did for you when he was raised from the dead by God the father. This is your victory; this is your story. Live with the reality of it and refuse to harbour any form of fear. Death and all its manifestation have no power over you; it stands defeated before you because “…God who is rich in mercy…. made us alive together with Christ…and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus….” Ephesians 2:4, 6 (NKJV). So, remain bold and know that Death has no power over you. Praise God!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
Thank you heavenly father for sending your son Jesus Christ to die for me and take my place, I thank you for the life that Jesus Christ brought to me, I thank you because, through the finished works of Jesus Christ, death no longer has dominion over me. Glory!
