“…Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth….” —2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

In our opening scripture the Bible encourages us to study to show ourselves approved unto God, which means for us as Christians, studying God’s word is a very important exercise that we must get ourselves involved in on a daily basis because it has tremendous benefits. It renews our mind (Romans 12:2), anoints our spirit and gives light to it. And, it brings understanding to the simple (Psalm 119:130). But you see, if you must tap into these benefits, you have to develop the habit of study. Now one thing is to study, but it is another to have a qualitative time of study because this is what really brings out the benefits in studies. It is not enough to look into the Bible and speed read the verses like a newspaper, you have got to spend time with it, meditate on it so that you can gain an understanding of what it is talking about and receive revelation from it. So, to achieve this, you have to begin by setting a study target for yourself. For starters, you can choose to begin with setting targets on how many verses you want to be able to complete in a day. When you start with that and master it, you can now move to how many chapters you will want to finish in a day.

At first, when you start, it might not really seem easy because you are trying to make this a part of you but refuse to give in to the discomfort it will give to you. Continue with the practice and before long, you will find yourself studying qualitatively. You might say but sir, I am a very busy person and I do not have time, well that the truth remains that nobody has time, people create time. Everyone has been given twenty-four hours each, those who are able to still study their bibles even with their busy schedules, are those who deem it fit to create time to study. So being busy is not so much a problem, you can decide to dedicate one-hour every day just to study the Bible and you will be amazed how it will revolutionize your life. So, get to work and chalk out a study target for yourself for as you do this, you fulfil the scripture which says that, “the book of the law shall not depart out of thine eyes, thou shall meditate on it day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written in it..” (Joshua 1:8 NKJV) When this becomes your practice, the bible says, you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success. . .”- Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) Hallelujah!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Nobody has time; people create time, so create one for studying God’s word.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
