“…so when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you…” John 13:12 NKJV

“Do you know what I have done to you?” This statement was made by our Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples. It was a simple but yet profound statement because He was trying to get them to understand in detail what He had done. Today, I ask you the same question, do you know what Jesus has done for you? Do you understand the price He has paid? Do you know the provisions of His finished works for your life? Jesus in our opening scripture washed the feet of His disciples but before doing that Peter objected saying, “…You shall never wash my feet….” John 13:8 (NKJV). Now, he said this because he didn’t understand what the Master was about to do. So, when Jesus perceived that he didn’t understand, He told Peter, “if I do not wash you, you have no part with me.” John 13:8b. So, because Peter now understood that Jesus wanted them to take part with Him, Peter said, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.”

Today, there are still many who don’t understand what Jesus has done for them. We live in an age where people hardly take the time to brood on the things that were done for them through the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Instead of reflecting on God’s grace, mercy and provisions in Christ Jesus, they complain about all that is going wrong in their lives. In most cases, they blame Jesus for their predicament, and as a result, nothing improves because complaining is not the way forward. The way forward is acknowledging what He has done for you and laying claims to it.

Beloved, no matter what you face or go through, do not lose sight of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Rather than complaining, ponder on the things Jesus Christ has done for you through His finished works. Believe in the sacrifice and start calling forth those things that be not as though they were and your life will not remain the same.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for what you have done for me in Christ Jesus. I am most grateful for your grace and your love. I declare that I am walking in the consciousness of this grace upon my life and it is indeed producing results for me in Jesus name. Amen!
