“…teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom…” Psalm 90:12 (NKJV)

Can you tell what significant thing your life has contributed to the Kingdom of God or even to humanity? If you were to sleep tomorrow or be with the Lord, what will people remember you for? Will you even be remembered? What would be your legacy? Will you be like those who just come and go, never to be remembered again? Take a look at the life of several men in the Bible; we never saw their faces yet we know their names. We talk about them and bring out storybooks from their heroic activities. Their works and their accomplishments inspire us. We remember Moses and say, “Oh he brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, and he led them through the Red Sea on dry ground.” And we remember Joseph and say, “He was a slave boy who became a prime minister, and saved Egypt from the seven years of famine.” we talk about Elijah and say, “He called down fire from heaven, he caused it to not rain for three years.”
How we love to talk about great men who are remembered for their faith and the works they have rendered to the Lord, but what about you? What will people remember you for when you are no longer on earth? How many lives have you touched that makes you worth remembering? What impact have you made in your local church? Do not be like the smoke from the flames of fire evaporating into the air to be seen and remembered no more. Don’t live a wasted life. Let your life count. Touch lives and change lives, make an imprint, make a mark in the world or in your sphere of contact. As Christians, it is expected that our lives should count for something. There should be a reason you exist. A reason God should continue to keep you here on earth. You can live to tell the untold about Jesus, you can live to open the eyes of the blind and set the captives free. There are so many ways to do so. If you can’t preach the gospel you can support by contributing whatever you have to make it move, you can be a part of an outreach program to the poor. It’s your call. In fact you can start immediately because time is ticking. The most important thing is, be an addition. Halleluiah!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Touch lives and change lives, make an imprint, and make a mark in your world or in your sphere of contact!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Father, I ask you to establish the work of our hands and help us to make a mark in our lifetime. Direct my heart to what you want me to do, and whom you want me to touch, so I will not be like the smoke that disappears into thin air not to be remembered again. Amen!
