“…and I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry. “But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God…”- Luke 12:19-21 (NKJV)

When I look around, all I see are busy people whose only consideration is their life here on earth. You hardly find people who consider their eternal life, you hardly see people whose priority is the life they will live after the coming of Jesus Christ or after they live this world. Every man who is working hard works hard only to live a good life on earth, hardly do you find a man who says, “Am working hard on earth, so I can store up my treasures in heaven. Beloved, it’s time we all begin to understand that everything in this world is vanity and it will vanish someday. It’s time we understand that a time will come when the earth and all its beauty will disappear and what will be left will be that which God had kept in the spirit.

It’s time we all understand that no man can live forever because one day, the giver of life will ask for his soul to be presented in heaven and life here on earth will be over for that man. So, why is everyone so concerned about a life that is just on a lease? Why is everyone focusing on acquiring treasures that they may never enjoy? Why, is it difficult for people to understand that there is a great difference between fifty years to a hundred years on earth and eternal life in heaven? Isn’t it clear that eternal life means unending, so why is everyone living only for today? So, I ask you today, where are your treasures? This world or in Heaven? If you have not started securing yourself for the life you will live after the world and all its beauty disappear, start now. Because it’s not too late. Secure for yourself treasures in heaven by being rich towards God. “…Do not lay-up treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also…” Matthew 6:19-21 (NKJV) Halleluiah!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Dear Heavenly Father! I thank you for your great love wherewith you have loved us. I thank you for giving us all things including eternal life.
