“…If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23 NKJV)

One of the things I have discovered in my years of pastoring is that people’s lives, experiences, and destiny are shaped by their beliefs. It might sound surprising, but this is the truth. A person’s belief system is the control room of their life and destiny. What you believe and don’t believe largely determines what your experiences become, which is why our Lord Jesus Christ said, “…If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23 NKJV).

Did you see that? All things are possible for the one who believes. As simple as this statement may sound, it holds the key either to major positive change or to major setbacks in your life. The crucial question is, what do you believe? You must be careful about the things you choose to believe concerning your life and destiny. The reason you must be careful is that several factors can shape people’s beliefs.

Over the years, many have been influenced to believe the wrong things because of their experiences, background, or even religious interpretations. For example, some people today believe that when things aren’t going right, it’s best to end one’s life. But is that true? The answer is NO. Others believe they can never be rich because they were born into a poor family or came from a poor background, but this is a lie from the pit of hell. The devil promotes that belief because it is how he can keep them in poverty. The fact that someone is born into poverty does not automatically mean they must remain poor. It doesn’t work that way.

So, these and many other limiting beliefs hold people bound for years. This is why you must make a conscious decision to adopt right beliefs. Refuse to allow your experiences and background to dictate what you believe. Instead, allow God’s Word to shape your beliefs. Spend time studying the Word and adopt its way of thinking. Believe what God’s Word says and let it mold your belief system. When you do this, your life and destiny will begin to produce the right results. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

Refuse to let your experiences shape your beliefs; instead, let the word of God be the author of your belief system!

Confession for the day

Father, I thank you for revealing this wonderful truth to me. I refuse to allow the world or my experiences shape my beliefs. Your Word, oh God, shall continually be the author and the finisher of my beliefs, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
