“…and my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus…” Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

Having established the fact that you can have a relationship with God, someone might say how do I do this? Well, it is very simple! First of all, you must understand why the word of God was given to us because if you do not understand this, you will miss God and miss out on His plans and purposes for your life. Beloved, the word of God was given to us, to help us know who God is, understand Him, and actually develop a special relationship with Him. Therefore, the first step you must take, if you want to develop a relationship with God, is that you must give your attention to the word of God. Become a good student of the Bible and it will help you to know who God is, what He wants, and how He thinks. It will help you build trust and faith in God and position you to walk in the path that God wants you to walk in. It will help you understand the various things that God needs from you.

For example, a lot of people seem to think that what God is looking for is only worship. That’s wrong, God is looking for much more than worship, He is looking for love. Even when He gave Moses the commandment, the most important of all was, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5 (NIV). Jesus Christ in the book of Matthew 22:38 said, “This is the first and greatest commandment.” Meaning, that love is much more important to God than anything in the world. And when there is love, it becomes easy to have fellowship with God, render your services to Him, and also give your resources for the furtherance of the Gospel. So take the word of God seriously, it is all you need to establish a relationship with God. From the word, you will be able to know every other thing God wants from you and interestingly, He will begin to guide you through His word and strengthen your relationship with Him.

Today’s Rhema

Confession for the Day

Thank you Holy Father for giving me the opportunity to love you, and to have a relationship with you just like you had with Jesus Christ my Lord. I thank you for this rare grace, and I declare that from today am taking advantage of the access I have to you in Jesus’ name. Amen!
