“…for He who has died is freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him. therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body…” —Romans 6:7-8, 12 (NKJV)
One of the things the devil does, is to make you feel that as a Christian, you are still enslaved to sin. He makes you believe that no matter what you do or how you try to stay away from sin, you are trapped with sin forever but guess what? That is only a lie, which he is trying to put into your mind to make you a slave to sin even though you are a Christian. And sadly, many Christians have fallen for this lie. Beloved, there are things you must get straight and stand your ground on because the word of God says so. One of those things is the issue of sin. As a Christian (a believer in Christ Jesus and His finished works) you must understand that you are not a slave to sin but alive to God. The finished works of Jesus Christ changed that a long time ago. Before Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price, men were eternally bound to sin but when He came, He became sin who knew no sin (2 Corinthians 5:21) that He might paralyze sin once and for all which He did and rendered sin powerless to those that believe in Christ.
The Bible records that “…he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, He died to sin once and for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise, you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord…” Romans 6:7-11 (NKJV). Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and offer every part of you to Him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace…” Romans 6:12-14 (NIV) so you who believe in the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ rejoice because you are not bound to sin but freed from sin. Praise God!

Father In the name of Jesus Christ, I thank you for the sacrificial death of your son Jesus Christ of Nazareth and His finished works. I thank you for His works unto me because I believe in Jesus and what He has done.
