Jesus Came Out of Spiritual Death

The angel spoke to the women. “You must not be afraid,” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has been raised, just as he said. Come here and see the place where he was lying” — (Matthew 28:5–6 GNT)

One of the most profound truths of Jesus’ resurrection is that He conquered spiritual death, not merely physical death. In Scripture, others—like Lazarus—were restored to physical life but remained spiritually separated from God. Yet when Jesus rose, He satisfied divine justice, paid the full price for sin, and broke the bonds of both death and the grave. Death could not hold Him because the required payment had been made.

This victory is staggering in its implication: Jesus has paved the way for us to be released from spiritual death as well. All we must do is believe in His finished work and receive His gift. By faith, His resurrection power brings you from spiritual death into true, eternal life with God.

As you celebrate Easter this season, rejoice in the truth that death has no hold over you. Just as Jesus triumphed over both spiritual and physical death, so will you. When your time on earth is done, you will enter into God’s presence because you are spiritually alive in Christ. Those who have not placed their faith in Him remain spiritually dead and separated from the Father.

If you have not yet received Jesus into your life, today is the day to believe. Trust in His sacrifice, invite Him into your heart, and ask for His mercy—and you will be born again. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this wonderful privilege You have given me in Christ Jesus. I thank You for making me spiritually alive through the finished work of Jesus. I choose to live in the consciousness of this truth now and all the days of my life. Praise God!
