“…when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, the harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers…” Matthew 9:36-37 (NKJV)

Our opening scripture communicates the deep compassion of our Lord Jesus Christ and the concern He had for the work at stake. The bible recorded that “…when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, the harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers…” Matthew 9:36-37 (NKJV). He was filled with compassion for the flocks and at the same time was worried because the harvest was ripe but there was no one to work the work. So He told them to pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send labourers into the harvest (Matthew 9:36). You know why? Because truly there is so much work to be done in the kingdom. One of the places with so many vacancies today is the work of the ministry. It is the most important job but yet the most neglected because many do not see how important or urgent it is. But the truth is that, as long as it is neglected souls will continue to die and be condemned and lost forever.

So it is important that you consider becoming a labourer. You can’t be in the kingdom of God and the work of God is lacking labourers, it shouldn’t be that way at all. Make a conscious decision to not just a part of the body of Christ but a relevant one also. Be the answer to that prayer that Jesus Christ asked the disciples to pray. When He said to pray to the Lord of the harvest, be the one to be sent. Be the answer and locate your function in the Body of Christ. God shouldn’t be looking for men when he has you. Paul the apostle understood the need at hand and said, “…necessity is laid upon me; yes woe is me if I do not preach the gospel…” 1 Corinthians 9:16 (NKJV). Did you see that? He came to a resolve and you should too. You should come to that point in your life where you say, necessity is laid on me to serve in the house of God, woe is me, if I do not render my services to God. If you can do this, it will be the best thing that will ever happen to you, because there is a reward and you will gather fruits for eternity.

TODAY’S RHEMA

Be the answer to the prayer for labourers, be the man God is looking for!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Father I thank you for the salvation of my soul, I thank you for opening my eyes to see the need of the hour, I choose this day to be a labourer who is committed to preaching the gospel and rendering my services in the best possible way I can in the name of Jesus. Amen!
