“…then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said: “Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

Exodus 32:10 (NKJV)

In your Christian walk, one of the things you must learn to do again and again is intercession. Learn to stand in the gap for others. It can change lives and make your environment a better place to live in. But lots of God’s people are not aware of this truth, so they allow things to spin out of control in their family, in their place of work and even in their city. Beloved, it shouldn’t be that way, one of the privileges God has given to us, is the ability to stand in the gap for others in prayers. If you take advantage of it, it can go a long way to correct a lot of things. Recently, I read the story of young man living in an environment where robbery was always taking place. The area was terrorized by robbers and people could hardly sleep at night for fear of these hoodlums. So he decided to do something about it. He didn’t go out on the street to try to challenge them, he didn’t go to the police to try to report the matter, No sir! He didn’t do any of that, all he did was stand in the gap for his environment. He said, he decided to pray one hour every night for one month regarding the matter. At first, it didn’t seem like anything was going to happen according to him, but by the end of the month, the state government took interest in that area and deployed the police to that environment, who came and dismantled that operation. The beautiful part was that, the robbers who were perpetrating this act were apprehended in no time and peace came back to that area. Now, that is what intercession can do, it can change people, places or things if you are serious about it and are willing to put in the work in prayers. So I admonish you today, to take advantage of intercession and change things. Maybe things are not going on smoothly in your family, or in your working place or in your relationship, don’t fret. Just make the decision to intercede and when I mean intercede, I am not talking about the prayer you do for just ten minutes and quit (even though that isn’t a bad idea), No! That’s not what I am talking about. I am talking about, a prayer that will go on for a season depending on what the matter is. If you will commit yourself in prayers and be consistent in it, you will certainly change things. So do the needful today and make plans on how to intercede for that family member, or co-worker or even your friend or city. It will bring a lot of joy in the long run. Praise God!

Intercession can change people, places or situations if you are serious about it!

The passion to intercede for others abounds in me and as I do, I am changing things and making my environment a better place in the name of Jesus. Amen!
