“…avoid stupid and foolish controversies and genealogies and dissensions and wrangling about the Law, for they are unprofitable and futile….” Titus 3:9 (AMPC)

Many years ago, before social media took center stage, most of God’s people normally distributed little leaflets or tracts that contained the Gospel’s message. And these tracts went a long way in ministering to people and getting them to receive salvation. But today, that is not the case; the social media era has brought in a new system where people spread lies about the gospel and destroy people’s faith. Now, instead of avoiding such content and post content that will edify God’s people and bring them salvation, many Christians would rather engage themselves in spreading some of the lies out there, which is not supposed to be so. As a believer, you must make a conscious decision not to repost any content that seeks to drown the Christian faith in the mud. If you do not make that decision, you will discover that at some point, you will find yourself reposting content that will destroy the faith of other believers. I know you might say some of these things are true, so why not post them? Well, the answer to that question is, whatever you are posting, does it draw people closer to God and salvation, or it confuses people and takes them farther from God? Think about it.

Every time I want to share a post, I ask myself, will this help the hearer in his relationship with God? You must remember that many young believers are out there who can not handle certain information. Therefore, it is important that when you are reposting any message, that you think about this. Do not be amongst those who are spreading nonsense about the church, do not be among those who are spreading controversial messages about the faith. Rather, make a conscious decision to avoid controversial messages or content and post only those contents that will draw people closer to God or help them receive salvation. Remember, at the end of it all, the salvation of men is all that matters. If the content you will repost will confuse men and drag them away from God, then avoid it. Spread the Gospel, not controversies; it takes nothing but a decision.  When you spread the Gospel, the Kingdom of God gains a disciple and does not lose them. So, I admonish you today to become conscious of this truth. Remember the Bible in our opening text says, “…avoid stupid and foolish controversies and genealogies and dissensions and wrangling about the Law, for they are unprofitable and futile….” Titus 3:9 (AMPC).

TODAY’S RHEMA

Make a conscious decision to stay away from controversial messages or content and post only those contents that will draw people closer to God or help them receive salvation!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Father, I am grateful for this timely message. I decree today that I will spread the gospel and not controversies. I choose to stay away from content that is controversial in nature, and as I do, the grace to spread only the Gospel continues to rest on me in Jesus’ name. Amen!
