“…the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and contrite heart- these, O God, you will not despise…” —Psalms 51:17 (GNB)

Have you ever sat down to think about what you are really doing with Jesus? If No, then the question above is a question I believe you should always ask at all times; because it is important that we walk in the knowledge of the truth and not waste our time. Many in the process of following God mix their faith with traditions and reasoning. You find them pursuing traditions, reasoning and, in the process, forget spirituality. However, this ought not to be so because nobody can walk with God and please Him with the senses, it has to be by faith in God and His word. His word reveals His heart and if you follow traditions, you will miss the heart of God. You must understand that real spirituality is getting to know God and following Him in His word according to His opinion and ideas, not ours. Today, you find that there are people who want to follow God according to their own opinions, they want to follow God according to what their senses think is right. They try to think for God and make decisions for God but the truth remains that, that is not a relationship but religion. Religion makes you think for God but relationship makes you follow what God thinks and this is why true Christianity is all about getting to know God more and seeking to please Him every day of your life by keeping His instructions.

It is not enough to say I am a Christian, it is not enough to be in church for every service, it is not enough to be in a service department in church or pay your tithe and give your offerings. All these are very good and encouraged but when you do not have a personal revelation of who Jesus is, then all you are doing is nothing short of religion. Paul the Apostle understood this and in his letter to the church in Philippi, he said “…all I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of His resurrection, to share in his sufferings and become like him in his death, in the hope that I myself will be raised from death to life…” Philippians 3:10 (GNB) He was hungry to know Jesus more, and indeed it paid off in his life because he had such a wonderful ministry which brought to us deep revelations of God’s word. So beloved, I encourage you today, to go for a relationship with Jesus and don’t get stuck with religion. Having a relationship with Jesus is what guarantees and secures your eternal future. And remember, to know Jesus more, is to believe who He is, what He has done for you and accept His Lordship over your life. For Jesus Christ, Himself, said “…I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me…” John 14:6 (NKJV). So, if you haven’t received Jesus into your life, we advise that you do so immediately by taking the prayer of salvation on this website and that will be the beginning of your relationship with the Father.

Religion makes you think for God but relationship makes you follow what God thinks!

Dear Heavenly Father, I am humbled by this wonderful revelation. I declare that my pursuit from henceforth would be to know you more and follow you in your word, so as to please you and honour you in all that I do in the name of Jesus. Amen!
