“…Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord…” Ezekiel 37:4 (NKJV)

Often, when God’s people face difficult situations in their lives, they tend to get very discouraged and helpless. They enter into that place of depression and unbelief, and in most cases, all they do is complain and tell everybody what they are going through. But you see, getting discouraged and feeling helpless will not solve the problem. Even if you complain from now till tomorrow, nothing will change. It will only get worse because, truly, situations do not improve by complaining. They only improve when you do something about the situation. Now, I know you might say, but what can I do to improve my situation, well it is simple! Make a conscious decision not to talk about the situation but talk to it. Prophesy to the situation and declare what you want to see. I know you might say, just that? Yes, that is all you need to do again and again. And as you continue to prophesy to that situation, it will have no choice but to bow because something about prophecy and the spoken word turns things around. Your words carry creative ability, and when they are released in faith through prophecy, the creative ability of your words goes into action.

In our opening text, we see a story where God took Prophet Ezekiel to a valley filled with dry bones, and God said to him, “…son of man, can these bones live…” Ezekiel 37:3 (NKJV), and he answered, “…O Lord, you know…” Ezekiel 37:3 (NKJV) Meaning, he didn’t think that those bones could actually live. But God wanted him to see beyond the dryness of the bones. So, God said to him, “…Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord…” Ezekiel 37:4 (NKJV). Did you see that? In Ezekiel’s mind, at first, he didn’t think those bones could live because it was actually dry, but then God wanted him to do something about the dry bones. He told him to prophecy, and guess what? When he prophesied according to how God commanded him to prophesy, the Bible recorded that, “…there was noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone…” Ezekiel 37:7 (NKJV). Before he prophesied, it didn’t look as though those bones could actually come together, but even in its dead state, the capacity for those bones to come together was available. Still, Ezekiel needed to say something for that possibility to come alive, and truly when he prophesied, those bones came together and became a mighty army. You, too, can prophesy to those dry bones in your life, and they will surely come to life. All you need to do is prophesy what you want to see and do it in faith, knowing very well that the possibilities already exist. They need your words to gain expression.

Whatever change you want to see already exists, but your prophecy is required for the change to become a reality!

Father, I am grateful for this wonderful revelation you have brought to me today, I receive the boldness and courage to prophesy change, and as I do, change is manifesting speedily in the name of Jesus.
