“…and make your boast in the Lord…” Romans 2:17 (NKJV)

In my walk so far with God, one of the things I have learnt is never to trust in the ability of the flesh but in the ability of the Spirit of God because by strength no man shall prevail (1 Samuel 2:9). I have learnt to make my boast in the Lord and not in man because He alone has the ability to make you achieve all things. Therefore, I encourage you to take a cue from this and boast in the Lord and not in man. Most people tend to make their boast in men because they know one or two people in places of authority. But the truth remains that no matter how highly placed these people are, they are still men. It is true that there are matters they may be able to help you with, but the fact remains that there are matters that they will never be able to help you with because they are men and are limited in their abilities. So refuse to glory in men or boast in men, stop thinking that your promotion in life is tied to one man somewhere, stop thinking that you need a godfather somewhere to access or achieve the things you want to achieve, because they will always fail you. But God who is our Father will never fail.

When your trust is in the Lord and you make your boast in Him, there is no telling what you will be able to achieve in your life. So change your focus today and start looking in the direction of Jesus, for it is written “…cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes but shall inhabit parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited..” Jeremiah 17:5-6) but for the man who trusts in the Lord, the Bible says “…blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit…” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NKJV).

Godfathers will always fail but God who is our Father will never fail!

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for being a father to me, thank you for your fatherly love and care. I will always look up to you from whence come my help, provision and protection and no matter the odds, I will never take my eyes off you in the name of Jesus. Amen!
