“…as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life…” John 3:14 (NKJV)

In the days of the Israelites in the wilderness something very remarkable happened that I would like to talk about today. The Israelites after a long Journey from Mount Hor to the Land of Edom, got discouraged and they spoke against God and Moses saying, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread” Numbers 21:5 (NKJV) Now, when God heard the words that they spoke against Him, He “sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died” -Numbers 21:6 (NKJV). When they saw the evil that was upon them, they came to Moses and said, “We have sinned for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord that He may take away the serpents from us” So Moses prayed for the people. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live” So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived” Numbers 21:7-9 (NKJV). Did you see that? From the moment Moses made the bronze serpent and put on the pole, anyone who dares to look at the serpent while in pain lives.

Now, the significance of this, is that the bible says “…as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life…” John 3:14 (NKJV) Meaning, just the same way, the Israelites lived when they looked at the serpent, that is how whoever dares to look to Jesus in times of difficulty, peril or even in the sick bed shall live because the scripture has said so. So whatever you are going through today, I want to encourage you to look to Jesus. I know that sometimes, the pressure might be so high that you can’t even compose yourself, but do all you can to get rid of that pressure and look to Jesus. Consider only Him and appropriate the victory He has gotten for you through His finished works, and your life will not remain the same. When you do this, you will be amazed at the way things will ease up for you therefore, I admonish you today to take your eyes off the challenges you are facing right now and look to Jesus, for He is the “…the author and the finisher of our faith..” – Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV).

TODAY’S RHEMA

When you look to Jesus in difficult times, the strength of your challenges weakens up and gives way!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
