“….and behold a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean . . . then Jesus put out His hand and touched him saying “I am willing; be cleansed.…” —Matthew 8:2-3 (NKJV)

Some time ago, I was trying to counsel a young lady who had become tired of life and upset with Jesus. She said that believing in Jesus has not been profitable for her because Jesus left her to go through the pains and struggles that she has gone through in her life. I tried convincing her but she said if really Jesus was willing to help her, He could have helped her. When I heard this, I realized that there are lots of God’s people who are also living their lives with this kind of notion. They think that Jesus is not willing to help them, and that is why they are going through so many challenges. But the question is, can this be true? Well, the answer to that is a big NO. As a Christian, it is important to know that your mindset about Jesus will determine the kind of blessings that you will enjoy in Christ Jesus. The Bible lets us know that “…as a man thinks in His heart so is he…” -Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) meaning that if you are thinking in your heart that Jesus is not willing to help you, that is what you will get. Those who have the mindset that Jesus is not willing to help them always remain in their condition for a long time.

So as a Christian avoid thinking this way, always know that Jesus Christ is very much willing to help. I personally think that Christians who think this way are those who have not come to know Jesus because when you know Jesus, you will know His personality and know that He is always willing to help. You must have the right mindset about Jesus because this will determine what you will enjoy in your walk with Him. You must understand that, when He went to the cross for you and me, He secured all that you will ever require in your life. He is not about to do anything new now, He has already done everything, and made grace and mercy available to you. He also gave you His name and His word, all you need to do now is take advantage of what He has made available to you, and use it to influence your life and situation. As you exercise your authority and your rights in Christ Jesus, everything you are looking for will begin to fall in place. Those situations that look like it will never leave you will cave in after a while. But you just need to keep standing in faith and not fear. So, I admonish you today to have the right mindset about Jesus and embrace His finished work. Instead of looking for what He has not done, look for the things He has made available to you and take advantage of it

Your mindset about Jesus will determine the kind of blessings that you will enjoy in Christ Jesus!

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for sending your son Jesus Christ to be my high priest. I thank you because I know that Jesus cares for me and I choose to take advantage of that which He has made available for me through His finished works. Hallelujah!
