“…but this I say; He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully…”

2 Corinthians 9:6 (NKJV)

Recently, I heard someone say if any preacher asks you to give so God will multiply it, is a thief because there is nothing like that in the Bible and I was shocked. Although I knew he was trying to let people know that the message of giving has been abused, at the same time, I knew that statement was extreme. While it is true that the message of giving has been abused by certain folks, it doesn’t make it wrong and it doesn’t change the fact that it is a unique principle that has the ability to put you over in life. Such teachings only mislead people and truly, people who already have issues with giving, will embrace such messages as the truth and deny themselves the power of it. This is why I often encourage people to try to study the bible for themselves and see the truth for themselves. When you are a good student of the Bible, you don’t need anybody to teach you the very principles of God because you will know them for yourself.
Beloved, whether you like it or not, giving is a principle and he who engages in it receives the benefits. It is that simple. The principle says, He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully…”2 Corinthians 9:6 (NKJV). Which means, a man who sows a few seeds will have a small crop, but the man who sows many seeds will have a large crop. Did you see that? It’s just simple. Your harvest is dependent on the seeds you have sown. If you want a bountiful harvest all you need to do is sow a tangible seed. This is not a man who has said this now, it is God’s word. The quality of your harvest is determined by the quality of your giving. Now, most people don’t like to hear this but that is the truth. I’m not trying to convince you here. The truth remains the truth. In the book of John 12:24, Our Lord Jesus Christ made a profound statement which I would love to bring to your notice. He said, “…unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain…” Did you see that? Take note of the last part where he spoke about much grain. When you read such things from the scriptures, what comes to your mind? Again, this is not a man talking here, it is Jesus himself and He makes it clear. He said, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone, which means, until a seed it’s sown, it cannot reach its true potentials. The same thing applies to the seeds we sow or give. Until it is planted, it does not bring out its full potentials. But when it is sown, it brings forth according to what was put on the ground. So beloved, I want to encourage you to give bountifully and you will reap bountifully according to the scriptures. But give, not out of persuasion but out of revelation. Your harvest is tied to your seed. If you truly want a bountiful harvest, then you must make a conscious decision to give bountifully. Hallelujah!
