“…and these signs shall follow those who believe: in my name they shall cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover…” Mark 16:17-18 (NKJV)

As a Christian, it is important to know that you have rights in Christ Jesus. Yes! You heard me right. You do have rights in Christ Jesus that helps you to live above the elements of this world and not be victimized, oppressed or defeated. Rights that helps you to overcome the wiles of the devil and put you in a place of advantage. So you have a responsibility to exercise this right when it is needed. Because it is possible to have these rights and still be oppressed like every other person in the world. You have to understand that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for you and gave you the authority to function in His name. Now, all that is required of you is to be conscious of this and use it. For example, when you are feeling certain discomfort in your body, exercise your rights in Christ and command that discomfort to go. Rebuke the sickness in the name of Jesus and it will leave you. If you don’t have a job, use the name of Jesus and call forth a job, and heaven will respond to you. If you have a family member that is not feeling fine, lay hands on that person and rebuke the sickness because you have the authority to do so. And the sickness will go when you do it in faith. Refuse to allow the devil to keep running rampage in your life and family. Exercise your authority in Christ Jesus, and put him where he belongs.

I remember a testimony given by one of the members in church. She found herself often sick to a point where she could not expressly get out of bed or do things by herself. When she heard the message on her rights in Christ, and she decided to exercise her rights and rebuke the sickness. She did it in faith and by morning, she was completely made free. Why? It happened because she decided to exercise her authority in Christ Jesus. You can do the same thing she did. Do not keep quiet and watch the devil wreak havoc in your home. Put him where he belongs by exercising your authority in Christ Jesus, “…lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices…” 2 Corinthians 2:11 (NKJV). Halleluiah!
