“…I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord who does all these things….” —Isaiah 45:7 (ESV)

Most times when God’s people go through trials and difficulties, they begin to make statements like, “What is God doing about my situation?” or “If God can really see, why won’t He do something?” Or” If God really loves me, why will He let this happen to me?” Now, they complain like this because somehow they think that if truly God is God, He shouldn’t allow them to go through the things that they are going through. They discredit the power of God because of the situation that they go through but it shouldn’t happen that way. You must understand that your situation does not stop God from being God. The fact that you are going through difficulties does not mean that God has changed or has become weak. He remains God and He still has all that it takes to change your life and pull you out of that situation. But if you must avail of the power of God, then you have to align yourself with principles He has put in place for heavenly intervention. Until and unless you align yourself with these principles, do not expect to see the hand of God move in your situation. Sadly, this is where many of God’s people have missed it. They want God to intervene in their lives but they are not ready to put their faith to work or tarry in the place of prayer. They are not ready to fast, offer sacrifices or engage in God’s word for a change to happen. They want God to do everything for them, but it doesn’t work that way.

You must understand that as a believer all that God needs to do to bring you out of any situation has already been done from the foundations of the world. He has embedded every divine intervention, help and provision in several principles. If you want to see these interventions manifest in your life, then you must make a conscious decision to take responsibility and put those principles to work. Stop pointing accusing fingers at God. Stop thinking God does not want to help you, He has already done that. All you need to do is find out which principles you need to engage in so that you can receive the desired change or intervention. Stop thinking, help will just fall on your lap of its own accord because it won’t happen. If you think help will come to you just like that then you will wait for a long time and nothing will change. Therefore, make a conscious decision today to put your faith to work and engage in all the various principles that you can engage in. Remember, “…the just shall live by faith…” Hebrews 10:38-39, and “….by faith the elders obtained a good testimony…” Hebrews 11:2 (NKJV). So, if you want your testimony to be different from today, make a conscious decision to put your faith to work and engage in principles that will change your situation.
