“…but the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you…”

John 14:26 (NKJV)

One of the greatest things about Christianity is the gift of the Holy Ghost which was given to us the day we received Jesus into our lives. I call it one of the greatest because of what the Holy Spirit came to fulfill in our lives. He came to be our Helper, Teacher, Counselor, Advocate and much more. He came to teach us all things and show us things to come. He came to make our relationship with Jesus a reality. But sadly too many of God’s people are not conscious of His presence in their lives. They don’t even give Him the required attention, hence the Holy Spirit is not able to do much in their lives. They live every day of their lives unconscious of His presence and even when He tries to lead them to make the right decisions or choices, they are unable to recognize His voice or leading because they are not conscious of His presence. But this can change today.

As a Christian, you must understand that the Holy Spirit is a promise from Jesus and a gift from the Father. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “…I will pray the father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive…” John 14:16-17 (NKJV). Today He has been given but He was not given to come and stay dormant in you. He was given to fulfil a ministry in you and make your Christian life a fulfilled one. Your responsibility, is to acknowledge His presence in your life, give Him the required attention and yield yourself to His leading. When you do this, He will begin to guide you from the inside out and nothing shall by any means harm you or take you unawares because He would always be there to show you things to come and help you scale through difficulties and afflictions sent your way. So I encourage you today to live conscious of His presence in your life and begin to develop a relationship with Him. Recognize His leadings and His promptings and be diligent enough to carry them out. When you do that, your Christian life will take a new turn. So start today, believe that He is with you and begin to speak to Him from time to time and listen to what He has to say because He will speak to you. Remember He is your ever-present help all the days of your life. Halleluiah!

To maximize the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life, be willing to acknowledge His presence, yield yourself to Him and recognize His promptings!

Thank you, heavenly father, for the gift and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in my life. I will continually yield myself to His leadings and promptings. I will continually pay attention to His words and whatever He says that is what I will do. And as I do the things He asks me to do, my life will not remain the same in the name of Jesus. Amen!
