“…but without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him…”

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

A few years ago, I was introduced to a young gynecologist who was seriously depressed. She was a Christian who had lost hope in God. She had a lot of issues and anger towards God and was always blaming Him for all her predicaments and losses. I tried all I could to get her to understand that God was not responsible for the challenges she was facing but all efforts to make her see reasons with me proved abortive and in the long run, I couldn’t do much for her because she had the wrong notion about God. She had faced too many problems in her life to the point where she felt that if Jesus truly loved her, He wouldn’t have allowed all those things to happen to her. So she felt God had abandoned her.

Beloved, it matters what your opinions are about God. When your opinions are wrong, everything else becomes wrong. When your opinions are wrong, nothing works because your heart is not right towards the One who has the ability to help you. Therefore, it is important that you change your opinions about God. Study the scriptures so that you can get to know Him well. Our opening text, lets us know that “…he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him…” Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV). Did you see that? You must first believe that the One whom you are dealing with is God and not a man that you could speak or talk to anyhow. You must believe that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him and above all, you must believe that His thoughts for you are of good and not of evil. Stop thinking He is the one responsible for your predicament because truly He is not. He is too good and too faithful to bring you afflictions. The Bible says “…let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone…” Did you see that? So what happens to people to make them feel they are tempted by God? The Bible says “…each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death…” James 1:14 (NKJV). So understand how these things go and adjust your opinions about God if you want to see glory days. Don’t ever forget that “…every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning…” James 1:17 (NKJV).

Change your opinion about God and your life will change!

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your wonderful dreams and plans towards my life, Thank you for your wonderful thoughts towards me. I am grateful to you for loving me and I will continue to enjoy your grace towards me in the name of Jesus. Amen!
