“…he who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known…” Proverbs 10:9 (NKJV)

Someone once said, “I prefer to do things with a Muslim than to do things with a Christian because when I deal with a Muslim he is straightforward but when I deal with a Christian, his ways are not always straight” Now, that might sound ridiculous but when you hear statements like this, we must give some thoughts to it so that we can become the best we can be in all our dealings. As Christians it is important to understand that we are pace setters. We show people what is right through our way of life and attitude. Our life tells a story and lets people know what true Christianity is. Therefore, it is important to deliberately be straight forward in your dealings with people. Let people dealing with you in any endeavour look at you and see a life worthy of the Gospel.

Let your life speak well of the Gospel. Let people look at you and desire to be a Christian because this is who are you. Refuse to allow your dealings to communicate the wrong message about who Christians are. Refuse to allow people to have a bad experience with you because such experiences could go a long way to form an impression in their heart. When you live like this, opportunities will not pass you by and most importantly you will be safe in all that you do. In our opening text, the Bible says “…he who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known…” Proverbs 10:9 (NKJV). Did you see that? When you walk in integrity, you will walk securely. So be encouraged to become deliberate with your walk with others. Value every relationship and treat it with respect so that the relationship can continue. Refuse to give people reason to doubt your Christianity, rather let your Christianity give people reason to come to Christ and receive Him as Lord. At every point let the spirit of excellence manifest through you, so that people can look at your good work and glorify your father in heaven. Praise God!

When you are straightforward in your dealings with others, you open yourself for more opportunities and give people reason to become a Christian!

The spirit of excellence is at work in me, therefore in all my dealings, I will not be found wanting. I deal with people with sincerity, honesty, and truth and by the power of the Holy Ghost, anyone whose ways are not straightforward does not cross my path in the name of Jesus. Amen!
