“…put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil….”– Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV)

Having established the importance of putting on the whole armor of God in these last days, someone might say, but how do I do this? What are these armors? Well, the pieces of the armor of God have been carefully listed for us in the book of Ephesians 6:14 -17 where it says “stand ready, with truth as a belt tight round your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate, and as your shoes the readiness to announce the good news of peace. At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One. And accept salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the spirit gives you…” From this, you see that the armor of God has been listed for us already.

The truth mentioned in the above verse of the Bible is the word of God. And God wants you to know it for yourself because, with it, you will not accept anything contrary to God’s word. The breastplate is righteousness. When you understand that you have received righteousness as a gift from God through Jesus, you will not feel guilty before God in prayers. Shoes here represent sharing the good news with others. When you are about the Father’s business, you will not focus on the devil’s machinations. For shield, the Bible spoke about faith because that is what you require to put out the devil’s attacks and obtain a good report. For the helmet, it talked about salvation. In other words, you must take your salvation very seriously, work it out with fear and trembling (Scripture Reference: Philippians 2:12-13). For the sword, the Bible spoke about the word of God. When you arm yourself with these tools listed out, you have put on the whole of God, and I tell you, victory will be the order of the day for you. So, as you journey in your Christian walk, spend your time making sure these tools are always on you and make sure no one is left out. Remove your attention from what the devil is doing and fix your gaze on what Jesus has done so that you can take advantage of it and use it to subdue the devil’s activities and make real progress in life. Praise God!
