“…so let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver…”

2 Corinthians 9:7(NKJV)

When it comes to giving, do you give cheerfully? Are you a cheerful giver? Have you taken out time to ask yourself this question to truly know what the answer is? If you have not, I think you should do that because it will go a long way to help you know where you are in your giving life. Most people never bother to ask themselves this question, hence they never improve. But your case has to be different because God wants you different. You‘ve got to understand that as a Christian, God wants you to act differently in all things. And when it comes to giving, God does not want you to just be a giver but a cheerful giver. The bible says God loves the man who is a cheerful giver. Which means God takes pleasure in that man and He is unwilling to do without the man. Isn’t that amazing?

The question now is who is a cheerful giver? The one who gives without complains, grudges or out of necessity. The one who gives because he understands how his giving contributes to the expansion of the kingdom and improves people’s lives. The one who joyfully gives and wants to give any time he has the opportunity to give. This is the one who gives cheerfully. The question is, are you like this? Did I just describe you or are you different? Beloved, if you truly want to win the heart of God and be different, one thing you must decide to do, is to be a cheerful giver. All it takes is a decision, knowing very well that the one who gives cheerfully wins in all things and receives a promise. For it is written, “…give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you…” Luke 6:38 (NKJV). Did you see that? That was the very words of Jesus Christ our Lord. He says, when you give, you position yourself to receive in great measures. So make this a lifestyle. Be the cheerful giver that God wants you to be and He alone will elevate you, for it is written, “…God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work…”2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV).
