“…you are sure that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in darkness…” Romans 2:19 (GNB)

As a Christian do you know that you have a far larger responsibility than just being called a Christian? Do you know that you have a ministry to fulfil in body of Christ? Are you aware that you have a role to play in your sphere of contact? Well, in case you do not know, I am telling you now. Beyond the name – A Christian, you must understand that there is a responsibility to carry out and a role to fulfil and that is to be a guide to the blind in your world or sphere of contact. I know this might sound strange to some people, but that is the truth. God in His infinite mercy did not call you just to be a Christian for the sake of the name alone but to join in the chariot of pointing people to Christ. Whether you like it or not, the world is in total darkness and many are groping in this darkness not knowing what to do about their lives and their eternal future. Many are seriously afflicted with all manner of afflictions and they are dying every day. Many who have already lost their lives, are lost forever because the issue of their sins was not dealt with and there was nobody to introduce them to Christ so that they could secure their eternal future.

So you see that too many are blind to the truth and it is our responsibility to guide them to the light which is Jesus (John 8:12). We have to fulfil the ministry of reconciliation which has been given to us in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:18). Therefore, make a conscious decision to be a guide the blind. Always remember you are the light in your school, your family, working place and lots more. Seize whatever opportunity that comes to you to minister Jesus to someone. You could have close friends who are not born again, make it a point of duty to start speaking to them about Jesus because, in the long run, it will help them to embrace the light. You might say how do I do this effectively? First, you begin with a prayer of intercession. Know the people you want to reach out to and start seeding them with prayers so that when you finally relate with them, it will be easy to get them to see reasons with you. Then secondly, look for a way to reach out to them. Either through word of mouth, or through Christian materials like tracts or blog post that introduces Jesus. When efforts like these are made, it might not seem significant to you but that could just be all God needs to start giving a man a visitation that will lead him to salvation. So get to work and take this part of your responsibility as a Christian very seriously. Remember, when you begin to reach out to the lost, you are gathering fruits for eternity, for it is written “…he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life…” John 4:36 (NKJV)

TODAY’S RHEMA

When you begin to reach out to the lost, you are gathering fruits for eternity!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Thank you heavenly father for giving me the ministry of reconciliation, and for reminding me of the need to take it seriously. Therefore, I declare that necessity is laid on me to preach the Gospel and draw many to Christ and my efforts towards this is bearing fruit and establishing many in the faith in Jesus name. Amen!
